Case Manager

Melis Cömert is a Case Manager at the Law Offices of Metin Serbest, where she plays a key role in supporting clients through every stage of the immigration process. She joined the firm in June 2021 and has since led the firm’s Detained Department, developing specialized experience in handling complex and time-sensitive cases for individuals in custody.

Melis began her career with Serbest Law’s El Paso, Texas office, where she worked for nearly two years assisting attorneys in preparing detained immigration cases. Under attorney supervision, she gained extensive experience managing filings, gathering documentation, and coordinating with clients and detention facilities to ensure each case proceeded efficiently.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from Northeastern Illinois University, a background that has strengthened her commitment to client service, attention to detail, and effective communication. In her current role, she assists attorneys and clients in meeting critical deadlines, ensuring accuracy in documentation, and maintaining consistent case progress.

Known for her efficiency, dedication, and empathy, Melis helps maintain smooth communication between clients, families, and the legal team. Her leadership in the detained case unit and her compassionate approach have made her a trusted point of contact for individuals navigating challenging legal circumstances.
