

Associate Attorney
Attorney Sarah Raia practices at the U.S. offices of Metin Serbest Law Firm, focusing on litigation, family-based and employment-based immigration matters, Asylum, Removal and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) proceedings.
She represents clients worldwide before U.S. Immigration Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), federal district courts, and federal circuit courts of appeals, as well as USCIS field offices. Her expertise includes asylum, Cancellation of Removal, and complex waiver litigation under INA §§ 751 and 212. Attorney Raia has successfully overcome Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs) in a broad range of visa and cases.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Leo University, a Master of Business Administration from Felician University, and a Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law. She is admitted to practice law in New York and Missouri, and represents clients in both immigration and federal court proceedings across multiple jurisdictions.
Dedicated to access to justice and community service, Attorney Raia volunteers as a pro bono attorney with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) and Safe Passage Project (SPP), advocating for unaccompanied minors in immigration proceedings. She also collaborates with the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) and Swords to Plowshares, representing U.S. military veterans in discharge upgrade and benefit restoration cases.
